TekRevive
Terms & Conditions
Clear and fair, Australian owned. Reach us any time at hello@tekrevive.com.au.
These terms apply to TekRevive's buy-back and trade-in service. By sending us a device you agree to them. Our service is currently available to customers within Australia only.
Shipping & transit
- Risk in transit. Items you send to us remain your responsibility until they are received and signed for at our premises. Please use a tracked shipping service.
- Lost or damaged in transit. TekRevive isn't responsible for items lost or damaged by the carrier. For added protection you can buy delivery insurance from your carrier, which covers loss or damage up to a chosen value while in transit.
- Packaging. Devices must be packaged securely with adequate padding. We're not liable for damage caused by inadequate packaging.
- Address accuracy. We're not responsible for delays, loss, or misdelivery caused by incorrect or incomplete shipping details you provide.
- Shipping insurance. Our prepaid shipping label does not include parcel insurance. If you'd like cover for loss or damage in transit, reply to your shipping email before sending your device and we'll issue a new label with insurance included. Australia Post charges $2.50 per $100 of declared value; we pay this upfront and deduct it from your final payout, so there's nothing to pay up front. As we're booking the label on your behalf, any claim for loss or damage in transit must be lodged by you directly with Australia Post. This is optional and at your own cost. We recommend it for higher-value devices for your peace of mind. If your device is later returned to you, you'll need to reimburse any insurance we paid on the way in before we send it back. Return shipping is free; return insurance is optional, but if you want it, both amounts are due before we return the device.
Return shipping
- Dispatch time. Returned items will be sent out within 3 business days of us receiving all amounts owing, including any shipping insurance you've asked for.
- Carrier. We use Australia Parcel Post for return shipments.
- Loss or damage on return. As with incoming shipments, TekRevive isn't responsible for items lost or damaged in transit by the carrier. If you'd like cover, contact us before the return is dispatched and we'll arrange shipping insurance for you. The insurance cost is payable before we send the device back.
Device inspection, evaluation & quote
- Inspection. All devices are inspected within 2–3 business days of receipt. If a device's condition differs from the description given at quote time, we may adjust the offer. You'll be notified of any change before we proceed.
- Quote expiry. Quotes are valid for 14 days from the date issued.
- Revised offers. If we send you a revised offer, you have 14 days to accept or decline it. If we don't hear from you within 14 days, we'll treat the revised offer as declined and return your device to you at our cost. Returns are sent to the address on your order, so please keep your details up to date. Devices we can't return, or that aren't collected, are dealt with under Unclaimed devices below.
- Stolen or counterfeit devices. Any device found to be stolen, blocked, counterfeit, or fake will be reported to the police. No payment is made and the device will not be returned.
- Liquid damage. Devices found with undisclosed liquid damage will receive a revised offer. You can accept the revised offer or have the device returned at your cost.
- Devices described as new or sealed. If you offer a device as new, sealed or unused and our inspection finds that the condition was not as described — including that the device has been used, refurbished or otherwise misrepresented — we may revise or decline the offer. That is not treated as a change of mind: if you want the device back, return shipping is at your cost. If you show us evidence that you bought it as new or sealed from another seller and were supplied a used or non-genuine unit (for example your order confirmation, messages with that seller, or an open dispute), we will arrange a free return so you can take it up with that seller. Honest grading differences on devices you described as used are handled under Revised offers above.
- Device legitimacy. We may reject the initial online offer if a device has missing or aftermarket parts, or shows signs of tampering by an unauthorised repairer.
- Unsuccessful trade-ins. If your device doesn't meet the quoted offer after inspection, you can accept a revised offer, have it returned to you free of charge, or have it responsibly recycled. Exceptions apply where these terms say return shipping is at your cost (including devices described as new or sealed that were not as described, and devices with locks that stop us accepting them), and to liquid-damaged devices as set out above.
Data & account locks
- Your data. You're responsible for backing up and removing all personal data before sending a device. We accept no liability for any loss of data.
- Account locks. Devices must be free of all account and screen locks (Find My iPhone, Google Account, Samsung Account, MDM, passcodes) before sending. Devices that can't be fully accessed or factory reset aren't eligible for payment and are returned at the sender's cost.
- Unlocked devices only. We only buy unlocked devices. If inspection finds a lock that stops us accepting the device (for example an activation or account lock, passcode, SIM or network lock, or device-management lock), we may decline or revise the offer. If you want the device returned, return shipping is at your cost.
Accessories & packaging
Any accessories sent with a device — chargers, cases, USB devices, microSD cards, SIM cards, or original boxes — will be recycled or disposed of. They won't be returned, including where the final offer is declined.
Unregistered & unclaimed devices
- Unregistered devices. If you send a device without first placing a sell order on our website, we'll try to reach you using any details we have. If there's no response within 2 weeks of contact, we may proceed with an offer based on the current website price at the time of contact.
- Unclaimed devices. Devices not collected, or for which return shipping hasn't been arranged within 60 days of a rejection notice, may be treated as abandoned and disposed of or recycled at our discretion.
Proof of identification
When you sell us a device we may ask for a copy of your Australian driver's licence, or your passport if you don't hold one. If this can't be provided, we may reject your order.
This is a government requirement when purchasing second-hand mobile devices in Australia, and it helps protect both you and TekRevive from fraud. You can read more about this requirement here.
Your ID will be deleted from our system once verification is complete.
Payment
- Methods & timing. Payment is made by bank transfer or PayPal. Our 24-hour payment window starts only once we have received your device, it has passed inspection, the offer is accepted, and your ID has been verified. It can be delayed or prevented if the device is account-locked or can't be reset, if its condition differs from what you declared and a revised offer is needed, if ID hasn't been provided, or if we haven't heard back from you (see Revised offers above). Once payment is sent, most transfers arrive instantly, but some may be held by your bank for a further 24 hours. That is controlled by your bank, not us.
- Payment details. You're responsible for ensuring your payment details (account name, BSB, account number, email) are correct. We don't validate these details and can't guarantee the receiving bank will. Errors in the details you provide may result in a loss of funds. To the extent permitted by law, TekRevive isn't liable for any loss arising from incorrect instructions given by you or an authorised user.
Events beyond our control
TekRevive isn't responsible for any delay or failure to meet our obligations where it arises from circumstances outside our reasonable control, including natural disasters, riots, war, fire, flood, pandemics, government action, or failure of third-party carriers.
General
- Severability. If any provision of these terms is unenforceable, the remaining terms stay in full force.
- Enforcement of rights. Failing to enforce a right or provision at any time isn't a waiver of it. Any waiver must be acknowledged by TekRevive in writing to be valid.
- Changes to terms. We may update these terms at any time. The current version is always on our website, and changes apply to future purchases only.
